By making a booking, the customer confirms that they have read and fully accepted these terms, including the cancellation conditions applicable to the specific experience (art. 5), shown before payment.
2. Booking and conclusion of the contract
Bookings are made online by selecting the experience, the date, the number and type of participants, entering your details and completing the payment. The participant categories (e.g. adults, teenagers, children, infants) and the related age limits vary from experience to experience and are shown on the booking page. Some experiences are booked per vehicle/unit (e.g. "per quad" or "per boat"): in that case the price is per unit and the page states the maximum number of people per unit. Some experiences may offer alternative options or itineraries (variants) with their own prices, shown before payment.
The contract is concluded upon receipt of the confirmation email containing the booking reference. For experiences marked as "on request", submitting the form does not constitute a booking: the contract is concluded only with our written confirmation of availability and the completion of the payment.
Online bookings are not available for the same day; online bookings for the next day close at 3:00 PM. The maximum number of participants bookable online depends on the actual availability of the date and is shown in the booking form; for larger groups you can contact us by email.
3. Prices
All prices are in euros (€) and include VAT, local taxes and insurance coverage. The price applied is the one shown at the time of booking. Any mandatory surcharges (e.g. landing fees) are shown on the booking page and added automatically to the total before payment; optional extras (e.g. trekking boot rental, snorkelling equipment) can be selected and are itemised separately before payment.
4. Payments
Online payments are processed by Stripe (credit/debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay and other available methods). Card details are transmitted in encrypted form directly to Stripe and never pass through our servers. Where available for the specific experience, the customer can choose between:
- Full payment online at the time of booking; or
- Deposit online — in the amount (percentage or fixed) shown at the time of booking — with the balance payable to the guide on the day of the excursion (in cash or by card). Failure to pay the balance means you cannot take part, with no right to a refund of the deposit.
5. Cancellation by the customer
General rule (unless specific conditions apply to the experience, see below): cancellation is free up to 24 hours before the start time of the excursion (48 hours for private tours), via the "Manage your booking" link in the confirmation email or by writing to info@mt-etnaexcursions.com. Beyond these deadlines, in the event of a no-show or late arrival at the pickup point, the booking is non-refundable.
Experience-specific conditions: some experiences have their own cancellation conditions, structured in time bands with increasing penalties (e.g. "free cancellation up to 72 hours before; 50% penalty between 72 and 24 hours; no refund less than 24 hours before"). Such conditions prevail over the general rule, are shown on the booking page and in the summary before payment, and are expressly accepted at the time of purchase. The penalty is calculated on the amount paid online; nothing further is due beyond what has already been paid.
If the cancellation falls within the terms entitling you to a refund (full or partial), the amount is automatically credited back to the same payment method, generally within 5–10 working days.
6. Changes by the customer
Within the same deadlines as art. 5, the customer may request — via the "Manage your booking" link or by email — a change of date (subject to availability and at the same price), of the guide's language and of the pickup point. Changes involving a price difference must be agreed by email.
7. Cancellation or changes by the organiser
Weather and safety conditions (including volcanic and sea conditions) are monitored daily. In the event of adverse conditions, force majeure, orders of the authorities or failure to reach the minimum number of participants stated on the experience page, we may cancel or modify the excursion: the customer will be contacted promptly and may choose between moving to a new date or a full refund of the amount paid. Any further compensation for costs not included in the Service (e.g. travel, accommodation) is excluded.
8. Right of withdrawal
Pursuant to art. 59, par. 1, letter n) of Italian Legislative Decree 206/2005 (Consumer Code), the 14-day right of withdrawal for distance contracts does not apply to leisure services when the contract provides for a specific date or period of performance. The cancellation conditions of art. 5 therefore apply.
9. Participant obligations and requirements
- Participants declare that they are in physical and mental condition suitable for the chosen activity and undertake to wear appropriate clothing and footwear, as indicated in the experience description. Any specific requirements (minimum age, height, weight, driving licence for vehicles) are stated on the experience page.
- Minors must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Infants, where admitted, take part free of charge but occupy a seat for safety reasons.
- Any relevant conditions (pregnancy, medical conditions, reduced mobility, food allergies or intolerances) must be reported in the notes field when booking or by email.
- For experiences with self-driven vehicles (e.g. quads), the driver must meet the legal requirements and is liable for damage caused by improper use of the vehicle, as communicated before departure.
- During the excursion participants must follow the guide's instructions. The guide may exclude from the activity, without any right to a refund, anyone who endangers their own or others' safety.
10. Pickup points and times
The customer must be at the agreed pickup or meeting point a few minutes early. The pickup time may vary slightly depending on traffic; the guide or driver will contact the customer on the contact details provided. Being late or absent at the pickup point is treated as a no-show (art. 5).
11. Liability
Dream Island S.R.L. operates with licensed guides and the insurance coverage required by current law. We are not liable for damage resulting from failure to follow the guide's instructions, from inaccurate statements by the participant, from unforeseeable circumstances or force majeure, nor for the loss of or damage to personal belongings.
12. Privacy
Personal data are processed to manage the booking and to comply with legal obligations, in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR), as described in the Privacy Policy published on the website. Payments are handled by Stripe as an independent data controller in accordance with its own policies.
13. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by Italian law. For consumers, the competent court is that of the consumer's place of residence or domicile; in all other cases the Court of Catania has exclusive jurisdiction. For alternative dispute resolution, consumers may use the European ODR platform: ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
